Vaishno Devi - A Religious Trip

A dream came true when I got a chance to visit Vaishno Devi in Jammu. It is said that how much ever you plan to visit Vaishno Devi you can't untill unless you get a call. I think it was time for me to visit so I got a chance to visit on Jan 7th ' 09. We were two people, me and my friend started for the journey on 06th and reached Jammu by 07.00pm. From there we took a bus to Katra, reached Katra around 09:30, booked a room for us. We were ready by 11.30pm to start our journey up the hill to reach the Vaishno Devi darbar. I wanted to go barefoot, but for some reasons I could not, but yes I wanted to walk and reach on the top. As we started we had in our minds that we will make it for the early morning Darshan. The roads were very steep and as were moving up, we realised that our legs started giving up, but it is said that if you have been chosen to reach till the darbar you will reach some how on the top. We made it to the top by 4:30am. On top of the hill near the darbar it was very cold.

After reaching on the top we we had a beautiful darshan and after that we had to start for another journey towards Bhairo temple, which was further up on the hill almost 1 hour journey. We made it from Katra to Vaishno Devi in almost 4 hours. And after visiting Bhairo temple we started to walk down. It was literally chilling when we reached Bhairo temple. It was still dark, we had somewhere in mind that it will be good if we can see the snowfall. While coming down as I saw snowfall may be for a 5 seconds but it was awesome. It took us again 4 hours almost to come down. For more information I can share that you have an options other than walking to go up as new ways of transport has been introduced. While coming down we saw the sunrise and again as I could not stop myself taking pictures of the nature. I am posting some pictures which will give you a glimpse of the beauty around Vaishno Devi.

Well, for starters, you go about it very boldly. You solicit opinions from travel writers and photographers, poll your colleagues, and talk to outdoor enthusiasts, historic preservationists and relatives who, every time you see them, seem to have just returned from another fabulous trip.
In a nation with a wealth of stunning cities full of compelling stories. You will find artists who love to travel and capture the beauty of beautiful places across the world. Sometimes travelling is so much of peace.

I have always been fascinated by the charm of beautiful places around the world and also with photography which captures the beauty of these beautiful places. Since my childhood I have been fond of taking pictures, I did not have a good camera and so when I got a chance to buy I started from a basic olympus camera and then moved to a basic Canon digital camera, and to tell you the truth I took some good pictures. Its so much of fun to capture every moment of your life which you can cherish throughout your life. I have even tried to capture some videos which has come out good but I wonder how to stitch all the videos together into one, may be I will try to figure that out later.

Haridwar : Rishikesh

I went for a 2 day / 1 night trip to Rishikesh. It was a trip with my office colleagues. And to tell you the truth one of the best trips of my life. I enjoyed rafting , cliff jumping and kayaking. It was so much of fun, specially the rafting was incredible as this was my first experience in rafting and I enjoyed the water sport so much.I also tried the cliff jumping twice as for the first time I was a little afraid, but the guide helped me jump into the water, by giving me a push, second time I tried jumping myself, but both the time the moment I went inside the water my breathing became hard, but then I remebered what the guide had told me to lie facing the sky and I did that and slowly tried to swim back towards the rafting boat. Then in the night we had a campfire and we had food and beverages, slowly as the night crawled in it became dark and the the sky was clear with twinkling lights and moon in the sky. The campfire started to cease and slowly it became dark, but you still had the moonlight which was enough to see,you could hear the insects making noice as we were in the middle of the jungle where river ganga was flowing and the camps were by the side of the ganges. Sitting in the night with the moon and stars in the sky, the sky was so clear and mountains around you and you lying on the shore of the ganges listening to the noise made by the flow of the water in the ganges was a thrilling experience.
